Painting our Salt and Flour Maps
Yesterday was a busy day with choir rehearsal for many students, a fun math lesson to build discourse and working with time skills set in an amusement park, and we finished it all off with painting our salt and flour maps!
I am passionate about teaching! I have been a fourth grade teacher in our school district for over 10 years. Nine and ten year olds have a special place in my heart. I am a Nationally Board Certified teacher and have a Masters in Teaching degree from WSU. I have my own family.
I have been married for over ten years and have a daughter who is also a student at our school. I love music. I played the violin (for over ten years), piano, and flute. I love water skiing, Hawaii, crafting, baking and the occasional pedicure or massage when I have time to pamper myself (doesn't often happen as a working mom). I dream of one day having the time to learn how to play the guitar and take painting classes. If I weren't a teacher, I'd probably try to be a children's book author or a shoe, handbag, or jewelry designer. I look forward to connecting with you all!
*A special thank you to my colleague, Mr. Biornstad, for helping me set up this blog and for always providing me with great links and resources.
